Peking To Paris 1907

Peking to Paris is a sculpture depicting an unforgettable automobile race that took place in 1907. It was a race that started in Peking, China and traveled through China, the Gobi Desert, Siberia, Russia and then on to Paris, France. Five automobiles started but only four finished as they traveled 10,000 miles across two continents with no roads most of the way. The concept and then the building of a horseless carriage was but a few years old, yet these madcap motorists, who attained unheard of speeds of 60 mph across the Siberian and Russian wastelands, made the trip in just 100 days.

The Artist spent two years in research and creating this early 20th Century adventure. An adventure that has been called "the maddest motor race of all time." It is a sculpture that depicts the "greatest 100 days in automobile history."
